Tim Doppel, president and owner of Atwood LawnCare

Atwood LawnCare has provided Macomb, Oakland and Eastern Wayne County residents with premium lawn care services since 1970. In 1992, the Tree and Shrub Care division was added and in 1997 Christmas Decor became a part of the service.

Today, Atwood LawnCare and Tim Doppel are looked upon as leaders in the lawn care industry across the nation. Atwood LawnCare is one of the largest independent lawn care services in Metro-Detroit and currently serves over 8,000 customers. Atwood LawnCare services include Christmas Décor Holiday Lighting, Flower Bed Weed Control, Bug Barrier Protection, Grub Control, Core Aeration, and Insect & Disease Protection for trees and shrubs. Atwood’s Premier and Organic Lawn Care Programs offer the highest level of protection against destructive insects, crabgrass, weeds and environmental stress. Our “Lake Safe” Lawn Care Program is unique and unmatched by any other lawn care service in Metro Detroit.

Tim Doppel, president and owner of Atwood LawnCare began his career at a small golf course before receiving his bachelors degree in Turfgrass Management from Michigan State University. Tim began working for Atwood while still in school and purchased the company 1984.

Tim is a frequent and popular speaker at industry meetings and seminars, addressing pesticide safety, professionalism and customer service issues. He has sat on the Boards of Directors for most of the national and state-wide professional associations within the lawn and landscape industry, adding his expertise and viewpoint for the betterment of the “green industry”.

Currently, Tim serves as the President of the Michigan Turfgrass Foundation. Doppel was a member of the Michigan Department of Agriculture’s Pesticide Advisory Committee for 17 years. He has been recognized by his peers several times with awards including a National Award for Professional Excellence, the Presidents Award from the Michigan Green Industry Association, and the Environmental Improvement Award by the Professional Lawn Care Association of America.

Tim was named one of the nations 100 most influential and visible green industry professionals in the Landscape Management magazine’s inaugural LM-100 list, the first of only three Michigan lawn care professionals ever to be so honored. Tim was one of 10 lawn care professionals to receive the inaugural Environmental Leadership Award from Lawn and Landscape magazine. Doppel was named the 2001 Environmental Communicator Award winner by TOCA, the Turf and Ornamentals Communicators Association for his writings and teaching to homeowners and other lawn care professionals
